How to build the structure that actually supports you

Hi Reader,

You’ve heard the advice: “You can’t pour from an empty cup”

But for most of us, that’s easier said than done.

When there are clients depending on you, family who need you, a literally never ending list of things you could be doing more of in your business – putting yourself first can feel like a pipe dream.

It might even feel selfish.

But as cliche as it is to tell you that you can’t pour from an empty cup… you really can’t, Reader.

You really are able to show up so much more effectively for the people and things that need you when you’re not running on fumes.

That’s why Module 2 of Built for Both is focused on building the structures, boundaries, and support that allow you to show up at your best for yourself and everyone that relies on you.

In this module, we focus on your capacity – your energy, your boundaries, and your needs. You’ll learn to identify what drains you and what sustains you, build small but powerful support systems, and create rhythms and routines that help you feel steady instead of stretched thin.

What this looks like in action:

Every lesson in Built for Both includes reflection questions and practical exercises that make implementation simple and sustainable.

In Module 2, you’ll:

  • Audit Your Needs – This Needs Audit exercises will help you get crystal clear on what you actually need to feel supported, energized, and able to show up fully. You’ll identify the most impactful areas to focus on first, and you’lll create a simple plan to start meeting those needs now. These are simple things that you can incorporate into your life now, even if you only have 5 minutes to spare.

  • Design Your Weekly Rhythm – You’ll learn how to create rhythms – not rigid rules, but supportive structures – that hold space for both your goals and your well-being. This exercise helps you shift from reacting to what’s urgent to intentionally designing how your week flows, so your ambition has room to breathe without burning you out.

  • Forecast Your Capacity – You’ll map out what’s realistic based on your actual energy and season of life, set priorities that fit your bandwidth, and plan recovery time so you can build momentum that lasts. This is such a powerful tool for planning out the next 30-90 days that you’ll come back to again and again as you do your monthly and/or quarterly planning.

You don’t need to keep running on empty to prove your commitment or earn your success. With the right structure and support, you can do meaningful work and still have energy left for yourself and for your life.

This is the shift that Built for Both helps you make, and it’s how you build consistency that actually feels like freedom.

Join the first Built for Both cohort by Wednesday, October 29 to get the full Built for Both program and your exclusive launch bonuses – including your AI-powered Business Evaluation Tool and Built for Both CEO Retreat Planner custom GPTs, and a private Voxer office hours session for Group Coaching members.

Hi Reader, This is part 3 of a behind-the-scenes series on our recent co-founder trip to Milan. You can catch up on part 1 here and part 2 here. Last week we told you about our not-a-secret-anymore Boutique Meta Ads Agency, the framework we run both businesses through to protect our capacity, and the fact that we made some decisions in Milan we were proud of. Where our last email left off was about the time we were both doing some reflective journaling for our business around the goals that...

Hi Reader, This is part 2 of an email series where we’re taking you behind the scenes of running our businesses as two co-founders who’ve intentionally built our lives abroad. Read part 1 here Last week, we mentioned something at the end of our last email that we want to come back to, and it’s that we are, a little accidentally, running two businesses. We promised to tell you more. So here it is. Before Supported CEO existed, we had both owned agencies. Elli owned a Copywriting & Launch...

Hi Reader, As Co-Founders, every time we get together in person, it's different. The season we're in shapes everything — what we talk about, what we need, what the business needs from us. This one was different in a way we can't fully describe without sharing more intimately where we actually are in our own business journey. The early days of Supported CEO had a particular kind of energy — a long list of things that needed to exist that didn't yet, and a worker bee momentum that made it easy...
